Ordering New Service:

All orders for service need to be placed on our website. If your account is already setup, please click here to log in. If you have not registered with our service previously, please click here to open your account. We can also be reached by calling the number shown on the top and bottom of this web page.

Do I have to place my order online?

Yes. This is to insure the accuracy of the address and to insure that we receive your request since you get a confirmation number online as well as email updates.

How do I know that my order was received?

Once an order for service is placed online, an email is automatically sent to the email address on file for your account. In addition, an email will be sent to you once the service request has been completed.

When will my service request get completed?

All service requests, within our standard service area, are completed within two business days, not including the day the request is placed. Please keep in mind that National Holidays do not count as business days.

Why wouldn't my request be completed within two business days?

Most of our service requests are completed within the next business day. However, delays can result from incorrect information given on the service request form, service outside of our standard service area, extreme weather conditions, dogs on the property or if you or your office was out of sign panels. If your service request will not be fulfilled within two business days, we will be in contact with you.

I need service at a location that is out of the service area. Will my request get completed?

All service requests will get completed, but the two business day policy will not be applicable. In these situations, complete driving directions will need to be provided prior to the service request being completed.

What about permits?

The Real Estate company / agent is responsible for obtaining all permits prior to sending us the sign request and letting us know if there are any specifics in regards to placement of the sign/post ex. Village codes or regulations of sign sizes etc.

We've decided not to put a sign out. Can we stop the service request?

We will do our best to contact the installer prior to the installation. If we are able to get in touch prior to the install taking place, there is no charge. However, if the sign has already been installed into the ground, then the standard installation charge would apply.

Why am I being charged if a homeowner refused the sign install?

You are charged because before you send in your sign installation you must make sure you have the owner's permission.

Can you please call the homeowner prior to service?

All communication with the homeowner must remain between the agent and the homeowner. Please inform the homeowner that service will be completed within two business days from the when the request is placed.

There is a particular spot that the post needs to go. How can I schedule time to met the installer at the property to show the proper placement?

Due to the vast number of service requests each day, we cannot meet at the property at a predefined time. The best way to insure proper placement is by marking the spot where the post should be installed. The area can be marked with a wooden stake and ribbon, metal frame, marker flags, etc.

We require that you place a marker on all properties that have a sprinkler system or electronic dog fence. If we arrive for installation and no marker is present, we will not be responsible for any damaged that occurs to a sprinkler system or dog fence.

If there are special instructions on the service request that state that a marker will be present, and it is not, our installer will use their best judgment for the location. This is done to avoid delays and extra charges as a result of additional service requests. However, if the location needs to be moved, a service call charge will apply to move to a different location.

Additional Services:

Will you put my name riders up for me?

Installation of name riders, at time of installation of post, will be done at no additional charge. The riders must be at the property for installation. Please put the location of the riders in the specific instructions field of the service request form. If there is a specific location for the rider, please indicate that also.

What happens to my riders when the post is removed?

It is a best practice to remove your riders and any other materials prior to ordering the post removal. If the materials are still on the post at time of removal, we will leave the material by the front door of the house or where the post was located (in the case of vacant land). We provide FREE storage of your riders as well so feel free to let us take care of this for you as a complimentary benefit of our service.

I don't like where the post is installed. Is there a charge to move it?

We will place the post in the desired location, as long as the information is provided at the time of the service request. However, if there are no special instructions, we will use our best judgment on the post placement. If you do not agree with that location, there is a service charge to go back and move the post.

The post is sagging. Is there a charge to reinstall it?

We guarantee our workmanship and materials for 45 days from the date the post-sign was installed, and we will service the post free of charge within that time period. If the post has been up for longer than 45 days, there is a service call charge to reinstall it.

Sign Removal:

What happens if my office is negligent in keeping up with the expiration dates of my listings and Gramar Sign & Service removes the sign/post from the property (five (5) days after the expiration date)?

There is a charge to reinstall the sign & post. The reason its handled in this manner is to look out for everyones inventory of material. The Real Estate Agent gets their sign back and we get our post back before the homeowner discards it.

How do I extend my listing so my sign/post does not get removed and is there a charge?

No, there is not a charge, however you are responsible for checking your signs due to expire section in your personal account within our web site.

How does that work?

Five (5) days before an expiration date (which the real estate agent provides at time of install) that address will appear on the signs due to expire section on your account, it will stay there for five (5) days after the expiration date, therefore in those ten (10) days, you must either extend or remove your sign. Click the red "X" it will remove the sign. Click the blue circle it will extend the sign (it will only allow you to extend the listing once every 180 days)

What if a post/sign is stolen from the property is there a charge to reinstall it?

Yes, we do charge a new installation fee to reinstall a stolen post.sign. In addition, there is a one time $65 fee for the lost post.

If a post/sign is stolen or missing from the property at time of removal is there a charge?

Yes, there is a nominal fee to cover the cost of the driver going to the property however if you get the post/sign back from the homeowner we will credit your account promptly.

The homeowners says that the "sign" is still there, yet my account shows that it was removed. Which is correct?

Very often, agents forget to go back by the property and pick up the riders, directional arrows, or metal frames you were using to supplement the post-sign and this is what the homeowner is referring to. The other possibility is that the homeowner pulled up the post-sign and placed it in the garage, shed, or other inaccessible place, and we were not able to retrieve it. If this is the case, we would be glad to retrieve it but ther is a charge to do so.

How and Why:

Why do you dig a hole into the ground vs. using a stake with the post attached to it?

By digging the hole into the ground, we are able to provide a much more stable post which will not lean over time. Since the sign is a representation of your company's image, we do everything that we can to make sure that it represents it well.

How deep does the hole go?

On average, the post is dug 18" - 24" into the ground. This is what is needed to provide the unsurpassed stability...especially in windy areas.

Have you ever considered driving a steel stake into the ground and then securing the post as opposed to digging a hole?

This has been considered, but not used since over time (as little as a month) the post will begin to lean. This does not allow the sign to represent the real estate company in the most professional manner. The sign is often a potential buyers first impression of the real estate professional and we want to make sure that it is a positive impression.

What do you do with the hole when the sign is removed?

Our installers carry buckets of dirt in their vehicles. When the post is removed, the hole is filled and packed with the dirt to make it level with the rest of the yard. We take every precaution to insure that the holes do not present any danger once filled in.

Do you actually try to dig "post holes" in the dead of winter?

Yes. Our installers are equipped with the proper equipment to dig the hole. In fact, it is easier for a hole to be dug in winter than driving a steel stake into the ground.

Why does the’ signpost look different from my previous post?

The key to marketing is to standout from the other products on the market. In this case, the signpost is that opportunity. Our signpost adds a more contemporary look to the standard colonial post. Standing over 6’ tall with a 2” x 4” crossbar (with its angled ends to provide a roof like dimension to the post), our signpost will help your sign standout among the other listings.

The signpost seems taller? Is it? Why?

Yes! Our’ posts generally stand 6’ – 6’ 6” above ground. This is almost a foot taller than the others in Soth Central Wisconsin. This is significant because it presents the sign panel at the optimal viewing height…eye level (this technique is also used with the DOT signs). Generally speaking, the center of the sign hung from our posts is approximately 5’ above ground. This makes it much easier for potential buyers to see the sign and information while driving by the property.

How do riders attach to the top crossarm?

Unlike other posts, our post does not have a slot for the rider on the top crossbar. The reason that this slot is not there is because for a slot to work, it must be wide enough to hold up to a ¼” thick material. When the slot is that wide, it does not hold the thinner materials tight, which enables it to fall out easily. There have been several cases in the past where riders have blown out of the slots in windy conditions and the rider has hit people walking down the sidewalk. This is a safety hazard that we do not want to expose the real estate company or homeowner to.

Riders can be installed on the top crossbar by screwing the rider directly into the wood or you can request an adjustable bracket to be installed. This will not only hold the rider tight, but also insures that it will not fall out. We would be glad to install the rider at time of the installation at no charge to make this easier for the real estate agent.
